The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

The bar chart gives information on the proportion of people who regularly exercises in 2010. The report covers the male and female Australians in six different age groups.

Overall, it can be seen that most of the women who actively participated in physical fitness were from the age group of 45 to 54 while the least belong to 65 and over. It is also clear that men ages 15 to 24 were the most active than those who are 35 to 44 years old who were observed as the least.

In detail, Australian women ages 35 to 44, 45 to 54 and 55 to 64 years old exercise regularly with over 52 % of them doing physical activities. This was closely followed by those who were 25 to 34 with 48.9 %. Those who were 15 to 24 years old belonged to 47.7 % while the age group of 65 and over had 47.1 % which only had 1.8 % difference from that of the age group of 25 to 34.

Among Australian men, 52.8 % belong to 15 to 24 years old who were mostly active in doing exercise activities. This was closely followed by the age groups 65 and over and 55 to 64 with 46.7 % and 45.1 %, respectively. Meanwhile, age groups 45 to 54 and 25 to 34 had 43.1 % and 42.2 %, each. The lowest rate was seen for the age group of 35 to 44 at 39.5 % which is 13 % less that of the female counterpart within the same age group.
