The given bar charts compare the Marriage and Divorce data for eight nations in 1981 and 1994.
Overall, it can be seen that while there was a downward trend in the marriage rate for 7 countries, Denmark saw an upward trend in marriages. As for divorce, the USA and Denmark experienced a fall in the number.
Regarding the marriages, the USA stood at just over 10 per thousand people in 1981, followed by a sharp dip to about 9 in 1994. Despite dropping, both figures (10 and 9 per thousand people) were the highest total of the span. The remaining countries also exhibited similar falling trends that typically ranged from 1 to 3 per thousand people in 1994. However, there was a rapid swell from approximately 5 to 7 per thousand people from 1981 to 1994 in Denmark.
The divorce rate was again surpassed by the USA, even though the figure dipped from 5.5 to 4.5 per thousand people (1981-1994). On the other hand, Italy had the least divorces at nearly zero. Although there was a negligible shrink in the divorce rate in Denmark, entire other nations witnessed a moderate climb over the period in the question. Interestingly, Germany plateaued at 2 per thousand people from 1981 to 1994.
