: The bar graph show the global sales( in billion dollars) of different types of digital games between 2000 and 2006: The bar graph show the global sales( in billion dollars) of different types of digital games between 2000 and 2006

The given graph illustrates the revenue generated from four types of games, namely mobile phone, online, console and handheld games measured in billion dollars over the course 6 years starting in 2000.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that the sales of handheld, online and mobile phone games witnessed a vigorous growth, as opposed to that of console games. It is also evident that out of all categories examined, handheld games remained the highest grossing sector throughout the timescale.
In 2000, the sales of handheld games stood at shy of $12 billion. This figure rose to just under $18 billion, an increase of 50% in 6 years. The sales of console games, on the other hand, nosedived from roughly $6 to a mere $3 billion within the same timespan.
It was not until 2001 did online games appear in the survey with a negligible turnover of around $1 billion. Over the next 6 years, however, this figure increased exponentially to approximately $9 billion, making it the second best-selling type of games after console games. Similarly, albeit with a later emergence in 2002, sales of mobile phone games skyrocketed from $2 to north of $6 billion in the end of the period.
