Below is a map of the city of Brandfield. City planners have decided to build a new shopping mall for the area, and two sites, S1 and S2 have been proposed.

The map displays Branfield city as well as suggestions of building a shopping mall in the area. As can be seen from the map, the two sites situate far from each other in the north and the south east of the map.
The first propsal is at the centre of the northen Branfield, right next to the housing estate area. It was surrounded by a railway, a rpad and a river, which passes by the site in three different directions.
To turn to the second idea, the mall is located at pne of the ends of the railway, between the city centre and the industrial estate. It is clear from the map that both proposals are at equal distance from the city centre and are far away from the golf course and the parks. However, the first suggestion is more adjacent to the residential area and closer to the water source than its alternative.
