The three pictures provide a layout of two villages, i.e Fonton and Meadowside, as well as various changes that have been made to the areas from 1962 until the present.
Overall, Meadowside village seems to have undergone a dramatic transformation, becoming more modernized and residential with the appearance of more infrastructure and amenities. By contrast, Fonton experienced marginal changes throughout the period.
It is clear that the main changes from 1962 to 1985 involve the addition of two buildings (leisure complex and superstore) and a housing estate in Meadowside village. A superstore had been constructed at the southwest corner of this village, opposite a housing estate and its adjacent leisure complex. Furthermore, a new road which passed by all three of the areas and ran through the centre of the village, had also been built. Meanwhile, a new road which connected the two villages was the only change that occurred in Fonton.
Currently, Meadowside has become a suburb and the area between the two places has been significantly developed with the construction of a business park in the south, opposite a station that is linked to Fonton’s railway system. To the north of this station, a hotel has also been built.
