The chart below gives information about the household percentage of spending on essential goods in China for the years 1995 and 2011

The pie charts illustrates how Chinese people spend their money to buys various household materials such as, food, clothes, tablets, and goods. The spendings are calculated in percentages for the years 1955 and 2011.

Overall, in both the charts, spending is huge for foods and clothes, which accounted for more than half of the household budget. Whereas, small amount of expenses is seen on drugs and goods.

In 1955, money spend on food is more than a two third (68%) while on clothing it was just slightly below one fifth (19%). However, after 16 years the expenses of both food and clothing declined by (9%) and (1%) respectively.

Expenses on tablets and goods in 1955 was less, for both of them accounted for (13%) each of them considered (4%) and (9%) respectively. However, in 2011, medicine jumped from (4%) to (11%), while household goods made a moderate change and increased from (9%) to (12%).
