The bar chart illustrates a set of comparative data about the percentage of British inhabitants who participate in charitable donation across five age groups in 1990 and 2010. As is evident from the graph, while such measures were viewed with a great importance among middle-aged people in the past generation, it was outnumbered by those aged 51-65 in 2010.
Looking at the details, in both set points in time, the younger age group donated the lowest amount of money to charity which decreases dramatically from 17% in 1990 to 7% in 2010. At the beginning of timescale, respondents aged 36-50 years represented the highest desire for charitable measures around by 42%, being much more than the older group aged 51-65 years which stood at just under 35%. In addition, elderlies came nest at 32%, just ahead of those aged 26-35 years.
On the other hand, as time goes by, there was a noticeable increase in the tendency to dedicate money on charity among those aged 51-65 and older 65 years, constituting the greatest proportion at 38% and 34% respectively. In contrast, younger groups showed a much lower inclination, dropping to 34% and 27% in those aged 36-50 and 26-35 respectively.
