The bar chart illustrates the proportion of British people raising money for charity by 5 different age groups in 2 years 1990 and 2010.
In general, it can be seen that the while the percentage of British people donating money to charity decreased for all age groups, the opposite was true that for the age group 51-61 and over 65. Besides, the proportion of contributors in the age group 18-25 was the smallest both 2 years.
To begin with, in 1990, the proportion of donors in age group 36-50 was highest with 42%, followed by the group 51-65 years old with 35%. Age group 26-35 and over 65 had the similar figures for British people donating money to charity, approximately 32% each. And this number was twice as high as that for the group 18-25 years old.
Moving on, in 2010, the percentage of people contribute money to charity in age group 51-65 climbed slightly to reach the peak of 39%. The figure for the group 36-50 years old declined moderately to 35%, which was equal with that of the group over 65 years old. Besides, the figures for the age group 26-35 and 18-25 were also dropped to 24% and 7% respectively.
