The chart compares the variation in the prices of real-estates within five countries covering the period of time from 1990 to 2002 since 1989.

It's clear that the prices of the houses in London was increased sharply during the time from 1996 to 2002, also people in New York had been suffered from growing prices at that time. The trend seen in Tokyo, only a slight raise took place in this city over the past 12 years.

During the time from 1990 to 2002, the prices for residents in the UK and in Tokyo were at the lowest levels, both dropped around 7.5% comparing to that in 1989. However, the figures of UK rose dramatically to a peak at 12% by 2002. The prices in New York also saw a great increase during the whole time, up to 10%. At the same time, only 3% rose in the proportion of Madrid.

Over the 12 years, the real-estate markets in Tokyo remained at lowest prices, merely less than 3% increased, but still 5% lower than the price in 1989. Frankfurt, the only city, saw the price fall by 1% over the time.
