The line graph compares the number of woman who were members of parliament in five European countries between 2000 and 2012.

Overall, the percentage of female mps rose over the period time in all countries. italy had the highest percentage of woman who were members of parliament.

In 2000, Germany had more femal mps than other four countries, at about 35%. this percentage rose gradually through the period to nearly 37% in 2012. France also witnessed the same trend, at exactly 25% in 2000 to above 30% at the end of the period. There was more significance in the increase in figure for italy from 27% in 2000 to nearly 40% in 2012.

Although only 4% woman who were members of parliament in uk in 2000, this number increase sharply to about 16% in 2002. By contrast, figure for Belgium rose steadily from 17% in 2000 to reach a highest point at 25% in 2008. this country then saw a decline to 23% four years later, equally to uk, in 2012.
