Overall, it can be seen that households who owned their accommodation increased significantly while the amount of rented accommodation decreased considerably between 1918 and 2011.

According to the data, the number of renting house was almost double than owning a house, with about 75% compared to 21% respectively in 1918. These figures in renting accommodation decreased significantly while the percentage of owning a house was a considerable rise until 1971. Both of them came to be equal level with 50% in 1971.

After that time, there was a significant upward trend in the having house figures from 60 % to almost 67% to nearly 69% in every decade, which means that it was about twice higher than others over a thirty-year period. However, at the end of the period, the amount of renting accommodation rose gradually to about 45% whereas there was a slight decline of 5% from approximately 69% to roughly 64% in owning a house in 2011.
