The bar chart shows the rate of two types of accommodation in two particular countries from 1918 to 2011.

It can be seen easily seen that the proportions of households in owned accommodation showed an upward trend while the proportions of households renting showed a downward trend.

According to the given data, from 1918 to 1971, the difference between the two households slightly decreased. In 1918, the households owning had the lowest rate, about 22% and reached 41% in 1961. while the highest percentage was the households for rented, with about 78%, but tended to decline. After 13 years, both of the households types were equal at 50%.

From 1971, the proportions of household renting dipped from 50% to approximately 35% in 2011. this downward trend shifted this type from the highest rate becoming the lowest rate. that of the household in owned soared, nearly 70% in 2001 and finally ended up at 63% in 2011.
