The bar graph gives data about the proportion of man and woman teachers in various types of educational setting in the UK during 2010. The X-axis represents types of educational setting, whereas the Y-axis shows the percentage. Six categories are shown: nursery/pre-school, university, college, private training institute, primary and secondary school.
It can be seen from the graph, that male teacher showed an upward trend and vice versa.
Approximately 95% of teachers in nursery/pre-school were women and it was the largest proportion. The second main segment belongs to the primary school, where about 90% of teachers were females. Other educational settings, like secondary school, college, private training institute, and the university did not have a significant amount of women teachers. The smallest proportion was at university, at just 30%.
Male teachers were mostly at university, the data shows that about 70% of all teachers were men. Secondary school, college, and private training institute had almost the same percentage, at 45, 48 and 50, respectively. Nursery/Pre-school had solely about 2% male teachers.
