Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison where relevant

The bar chart compares the proportion of male and female teachers in six different academic settings from kindergarten to university in the UK in 2010.

It is clear that men and women held almost the same percentage in secondary school teaching and in private training. In particular, they had exactly the same number of posts in college. However, there are still some surprising differences between them.

For women, they almost obtained the entire percentage of education in kindergarten and primary school. Besides that, they held the majority of secondary school positions, around 56 percent. Nevertheless, teachers in private training institutions are just below the male teachers, about 43 percent.

For male teachers, the employment pattern was the reverse. Just under 10 percent of teachers in nursery and primary school were men. However, men reached a significantly higher proportion of lectures at the university (around 70 percent). Furthermore, just over 40 percent of males held secondary school positions.

Overall, the figure shows that gender is a key factor in the academic world.
