The bar chart compares the coffee and tea purchasing and drinking habits of the people who live in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart.

Overall, people who went to a cafe for coffee or tea in the last 4 weeks accounted for the largest proportion in four cities except for Adelaide. By contrast, the percentage of people who bought fresh coffee in the last 4 weeks was the smallest in all cities.

In Melbourne, Hobart, and Sydney, over 60% of people went to a cafe in the last 4 weeks, followed by Brisbane and Adelaide at about 56% and 49% respectively. In addition, Hobart had the highest proportion of people who bought instant coffee in the last 4 weeks at approximately 54%, followed by Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney at about 53%, 50%, 48%, and 46%, respectively. Adelaide was the only city where more people bought instant coffee than fresh coffee in the last 4 weeks.

The proportion of people who bought fresh coffee in the last 4 weeks was highest in Sydney at nearly 44%, followed by Melbourne and Hobart at about 43% and 37% respectively. Brisbane and Adelaide had approximately the same percentage at just below 35%.
