Overall, the wheat exports of the European Community experienced an upward trend over the 5-year period. By contrast, Australia saw a downward trend and Canada fluctuated in terms of their wheat exports.

As the graph shows, the wheat export figure of the European Community started at approximately 17 million tons in 1985, followed by a moderate decrease to about 14 million tons in 1986. Then, it climbed to exactly 15 million tons and remained stable between 1987 and 1988, before witnessing a steady growth to 19 and 21 million tons in 1989 and 1990, respectively. Regarding Canada’s export, they shipped approximately 19 million tons of wheat in 1985, followed by a slight decrease to around 17 million tons in 1986. Afterward, the figure experienced considerable growth to 25 million tons in 1988, but then plunged to below 15 million tons in 1989. It subsequently rose to just under 20 million tons in 1990.

By contrast, the number of wheat exported by Australia began at 15 million tons in 1985, followed by a slight increase to about 16 million tons in 1986. Then, the figure witnessed a steady decrease to just above 10 million tons between 1987 and 1990.
