The bar chart gives information about the total duration of UK telephone calls between 1995 and 2002. Overall, local calls decreased at the end of the survey, while mobiles, national and international calls had significant growth.
Local calls were more preferable in the early years, with more than 70 billion calls in 1995. There was a gradual rise until 1999, when it reached the highest point ever, approximately 90 billion calls. Since it had a downward trend and in 2002 reached the same level as it was in 1995.
In 1995, national and international calls had an only half number of local calls (about 38 billion). It rose steadily and had reached the highest point of almost 60 billion by 2002. In contrast, mobiles amounted just a mere about 3 billion. It increased slowly and passed 20 billion calls in 2000. However, this was followed by a dramatic growth when it had reached its highest point in 2002, nearly 40 billion.
