The chart below shows the total number of Olympic medals won by twelve different countries.
The bar chart compares the achievement of Olympic medals by twelve countries.
It is clear that the USA has won the highest number of Olympic medals at around 2300. Apart from the USA, there are five countries that won 500-600 medals in the Olympic Games.
The USA has won about 900 gold, 750 silver and 650 bronze medals. The number of gold medals is more than the total number of all colour medals won by any other country but Soviet Union. In addition, the number of medals won by Soviet Union is around 1000 and it is notably lower than half for the figure of the USA. It is worth noting that the numbers of gold medal won by the USA and Soviet Union are both remarkably higher than other medals.
Except for the USA and Soviet Union, there are only four countries -the U.K., France, Germany and Italy that have won more than 500 medals. All of their figures are almost similar. Finally, for all these 12 countries, Japan has won the least number of Olympic medals at 750.
