Looking at the graphs, it is clearly obvious that agriculture is the main reason of using water in countries across the world. Following up are industry and domestic. These three areas are also the purposes of consuming water in the world, which account for 100%.
In chart 1, as we mention above, people use water mainly for agriculture. This activity occupies 70% of world water use in 2000. This number is really high in comparison with the numbers in industry and domestic, with the sequence is 22% in industry and 8% in domestic.
Agriculture is the main aim of using water, and the numbers in selected countries also prove that thought. In India, people even use 92% of water for agriculture, an enormous number compared to just 5% in domestic and 3% in industry. Meanwhile, in China, agriculture also leads the table with 69% of water use. A slight difference is that the number in industry is higher than domestic's number, 22% compared with 9%. In New Zealand and Canada, this trend doesn't exist anymore. Domestic is the main reason of using water in New Zealand with 2% higher than agriculture, while in Canada, industry dominates the table with 80% of water use in 2000.
