The charts illustrate the proportion of electronic devices such as washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner in household as well as the amount of time spending on household chores in a particular country in the period from 1920 to 2019.
Over all, the percentage of household electronic devices grew generally over the period while it is a contrast trend in the number of hours spend to do housework per week.
In 1920, no one had the ownership of a refrigerator while the figure for washing machine and vacuum cleaner was 40% and 30%, respectively. After 60 years, the proportion of refrigerator owner increased dramatically to 100%. In 2 next decades, the figure for vacuum cleaner was the same while there was a slight increase in the number of people who had a washing machine at their home at 70% in 2000.
According to the amount of time to do housework, the highest proportion was recorded in 1920 at 50% then general decreased to 20% in 1960. In the period from 1960 to 2019, the figure for it was fluctuate approximately steadily to 10% in the last year.
