A cursory glance at the diagram is enough to make it clear that the major of total people working in town B worked in manufacturing both in 1960 and 2010.
As can be seen from the first diagram, in 1960, the figure for people working in manufacturing in town A accounted for 41%. Meanwhile, the number of people working in sales and services of this town was nearly the same, which were 30% and 29% respectively. However, in 2010, the figure for people working in manufacturing declined drastically to a fifth. In a similar fashion, the percentage of people working in sales halved in 2010. In contrast, the rate of people working in services witnessed a significant increase by more than a third.
As the second diagram suggests, in 1960, people working in manufacturing in town B took up a majority proportion which was 70%. In the meantime, people working in sales and services occupied 20% and 10% respectively. Nevertheless, the proportion of people working in manufacturing decreased by nearly a fifth in 2010. In the meanwhile, the number of people working in sales saw a slight growth to 22% in 2010. Similarly, the figure for people working in services presented a considerable rise to a quarter in 2010.
As a general trend, the rate of people working in manufacturing went down between 1960 and 2010, whereas the proportion of people working in services went up in the years given.
