The two pie charts compare the percentage of students of a university in England who had the knowledge of foreign languages with English in 2000 and 2010.
The students who speak only Spanish was the highest rate in given both years. According to the first figure, 30% students spoke Spanish in 2000 which rose by 5% in 2010. Besides this, 20% of students knew English only in 2000 which was the second highest rate of speaking language in Britain however, this rate declined by half in 2010. Apart from this, they knew the same percentage of the other two languages as did German language only in 2000, nevertheless, increased by 5% in 2010. In other hands, only 15% knew another language with English which was equal to French speaker in 2000 but in 2010, another language speaker rose by 5% whereas only French speakers declined by 5%. Interestingly, German language speakers remained at the same rate in both given years.
Overall, only French and Spanish speakers rose over a given period while the proportion of other language speakers decreased except German speakers.
