The two tables indicate the percentages of university students in the UK who can speak different languages beside English between the years 2000 and 2010.

In general, it can be seen that the majority of students in England can speak more than one language during the period shown. Among the languages mentioned in the tables, Spanish was the most widely used language, while French and German were among the least.

As displayed in the tables, there were about 80% of university students who can speak more than one language in 2000, and the percentage rose to 90% in 2010. In addition, British students can speak Spanish the most with the percentage accounted for 30% in 2000 and 35% in 2010. The figures of those who can speak one or two other languages increased over the 10-year period, up to 20% and 15% respectively in 2010.

On the other hand, the proportion of students who can only speak English declined from 20% in 2000 to only 10% in 2010. Furthermore, French and German were among the least used languages, with roughly about 10% for each figures in 2010.
