Overall, the exportation of this country showed an increasing pattern in most of the groups, except from gems and jewellery category. While petroleum products were the highest earning exports, the textile industry saw the most significant growth in earnings.
Petroleum products and engineered goods played a dominant role in country's exportation in both years. These two group were at variance with percentage change in values. The former group was the highest export income for the country, reached at 63 billion dollars, whereas the latter one income was slightly lower, rose to 62 billion dollars in 2016. By 2016, the latter group export earnings had increased faster than the former one in an aspect of percentage change in values, by 8.5% and 3% respectively.
From 2015 to 2016, the percentage change in values of exporting textiles experienced the greatest increase, by 15.24%, with earnings rising from roughly 25 billion dollars to over 30 billion dollars. By contrast, there was minimal change in the amount of money earned from agricultural products, which remained at just over 30 billion dollars. Finally, only gems and jewellery product group suffered a decline in export earnings, fell by around 5% to approximately 40 billion dollars in 2016.
