Overall, more and more people chose employment over being unemployed or pursuing higher education over 3 decades. While higher studies and unemployment rates dipped in numbers in the same period.

Specifically, higher education was the highest number in 1980 with 50% of the student opting for it. However, it started decreasing from there and was at 38% and 37% in the year 1990 and 2000 respectively. Unemployment initially increased from 10% in 1980 to 12 % in 2000, but finally decreased to 8% by the year 2000.

Getting employment was at 40% in the year 1980. From there it rose steadily with a 10 % increase in 1990 to 50% and had an additional 5% growth by the year 2000 at 55% making it the highest option which was chosen by ex-students of secondary school.
