The diagram below illustrates how sugar is made from raw sugar cane. Write a report for a university lecturer that describes this process.

The diagram gives information about the process of manufacturing sugar from raw sugar cane.

Overall, the process consists of 11 steps and 3 stages. Starting when sugar cane is delivered from cane fields in mash bins, and ended with loading the dry sugar to the sugar hoppers load truck, in order to store it in the warehouse.

Initially, in the first stage, after canes delivered from the cane fields in the mash bins, they are weighed and emptied onto a cane roller. Then, it is entered to a shredded cane and yields juice which is crushed out into containers. At the second stage, juice is examined for sugar content and heated up and limed in order to decrease its PH level to lower acidity. Subsequently, juice is entered into the clarifier where mud is separated from sugar and settled to the bottom. The mud is then removed through an opening located at the bottom of the clarifier. At the end of the second stage, the juice is sent to a steamer that consists of five chambers. In the steamer, evaporation of water transformed the juice to syrup.

At the final stage, the syrup transferred to a vacuum pan, which it is cylinder in shape with a triangular end, there the syrup is transformed to sugar crystals. Next, the sugar is spun to clear it from molasses, which are used as stock feed and for ethanol production. Finally, wet raw sugar is transferred into cooler where it is cooled and dried and then loaded to the trucks in order to deliver the produce to the warehouse.
