Essay topics:

The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.

diagram depicts the process of electricity generation that takes place in the hydroelectric station. Overall, the whole procedure consists of separate stages and involves the usage of a variety of machinery that intake water to generate electricity.
As it could be seen in the diagram, the water from the river is stored in the high-level reservoir until it is supplied to the power station. The power station is separated from the water storage with the dam that is open during the day time, when water flow generate electricity, and this dam is kept closed at nights, when the flow of water is pumped up. Once the water is supplied to the power station, it goes through the reversible turbines performing two different processes occur. During the day these turbines operate generator. And at night these machines do not work as generator operators and just pump water back into the high-level reservoir.
Observing the latest stage of the electricity generation process, one can notice that it consists of two different actions. The first action is the supply of the electric power from the generator to the power lines and then further to the national grid, where the power is consumed by a variety of institutions as well as residents. The second action is daily water transmission to the low-level reservoir and reversed process of water pumping occurring during the night period.
Looking from the overall perspective, the process is sophisticated and constructed with the aim to satisfy the increased demand of citizens, businesses, and governmental bodies for electricity.
