The diagram depicts the methods of recycling the aluminium cans for reuse.
First, the cans should be thrown in the seperate dustbins which collects aluminium cans. Then the waste is collected by the garbage vehicle and delivered to the place where the recycling process is done. The waste is then transferred to the machines wherein the cans are first cleaned. Further, the cans are sorted from other waste and later on sent to shredding. Once shredding is completed, it is then compressed.
Furthermore, the cans are heated in a heating furnace upto the melting point of the metal. After, melting the metal it is moulded into thick sheets of around various thickness ranging from 2.5 mm to 6mm thickness. When the sheets cooled down, they are rolled into cans again for reuse. The cans are then sent to the drink manufacturing companies. This recycling cycle is again repeated in the same manner for the next waste. In UK, around 74 percent of aluminium cans recycled and reused.
