The diagrams below are existing and proposed floor plans for the redevelopment of an art gallery.

The two pictures compares the current layout of the art gallery with a plan to redesign the same space.

We can see that the new design will change the usage of floor space in the gallery. The main changes are that it will change the entrance's location and there will be larger exhibition space.

At present, visitors who want to enter the gallery need to walk though the lobby. When the redesigned work complete, the entrance will be move to the Parkinson Court side of the building. The existing place for lobby and office will be completely redevelopmented and replaced by an education area and a small storage area.

The permanent exhibition space will expand to over twice as large as currently it is, straightly occupying in the center of the building. This will be achieved through combining two temporary exhibition space which are close to the current permanent part currently. Finally, the redesign plan shows a brand new special exhibition space to the left of the permanent exhibition space, along with a small storage space, and that area is not a part of the existing gallery.
