Eating sweet foods produces acid in the mouth, which can cause tooth decay. (High acid levels are measured by low pH values)

The line graph depicts how 3 different types of sugar resources influence PH level in mouth which refers to acidity on the basis of within 40 minutes. The acidity that determines tooth decay is PH 5.5 provided.

As seen above, the overall trends are the same that it commences with PH7 in mouth. First and foremost, cane sugar shows the biggest movements in graph. It decreases by approximately PH3.5 to PH2 in 5 minutes which is generally thought the lowest PH in human body and detrimental to tooth. However, fruit sugar illustrates a wilder line. It drops by about PH2.8 which is slightly higher than PH 4 while honey which is known as the simplest mono-saccharide structure describes the minimum fall at about PH 4.7.

Turning out attention to the time after 5 minutes, cane sugar steadily increases to PH 7 for the given time which is 40 minutes and fruit sugar reaches PH 7 within 35 minutes. However, honey recovers its PH back to 7 in 25 minutes from the moment of eating occurs. It is estimated that honey makes the oral environment detrimental to tooth for less than 10 minutes, fruit sugar stays about 15 minutes and cane sugar exposes to the condition which tooth decay occurs approximately 30 minutes.

To sum up, cane sugar is deemed to be the most detrimental sugar resource with respect to oral health among the given sugar resources.
