The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two pie charts compare the percentage of the energy consumed for various purposes and the greenhouse gas emitted by an average Australian family.

Overall, there is an appreciable difference in the proportion between energy utilization and their corresponding CO2 emissions. Whereas, heating accounts for the highest energy consumption, the largest proportion of greenhouse exhaust does not belongs to it but water heating.

As clearly shown in the first chart, 42% of energy consumed in an Australian family is used for heating, which constitutes the largest amount on the chart, followed by that of water heating, at 30%. Other energy consumptions makes up the rest one third of the pie chart, whereby the energy is burnt up at 15% for other appliances, 7% for refrigeration, 2% and 4% for cooling and lighting.

When it comes to CO2 emissions resulting from the aforementioned energy usages, the percentage appears rather unpredictable. Despite the highest proportion in energy expenditure, heating, in fact, emits only 15% of CO2 to the environment. By contrast, other appliances discharges greenhouse gas twice as much as the amount its energy consumption, at approximately 30%.

Likewise, greenhouse emissions derived from refrigeration constitutes 14% while other 8% of those gases goes to lighting. As a matter of fact, these figures are doubled their energy used in each family. However, unlike other categories, water heating and cooling experience a very modest raise in number, 32% and 3%, respectively.
