The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

The given pie graphs below illustrates the energy consumption by Australian families on heating, refrigeration, lighting, cooling and other appliances, and their Co2 emission into the atmosphere.
Overall, it is clear that heating and water heating were the highest consumers of energy, while the reverse was true for cooling and lighting. However, other appliances were the second major contributor in polluting the air quality after water heating.
According to the first chart, 42% and 30% of Australian energy went on heating and water heating respectively, making them the dominant users of it. These were followed by the other appliances at 15%, while refrigeration, lighting and cooling consumption was under 7%.
Moving on to its emission, while heating emitted less amount of gases at 15% as compared to its energy use, the water heating has 2% more of its consumption. The other appliances, refrigeration and cooling, adverse effects to the greenhouse was 28%, 14% and 7% respectively, almost double of its energy consumption. However, production of CO2 from cooling was only 3%.
