Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The following graph shows the trend of water consumption throughout the world in three distinctive sections, with the table depicting the amount of water which was consumed by Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo in the year of 2000.
As can be clearly observed from the graph, there are three sectors including agriculture, industrial, and domestic use. Unlike the fact that water consumption in both industry and households initiated slightly above 0 km3 in 1900 and followed fairly similar pattern till 1940, industrial use increased far more drastic than domestic use, more than 1000 km3 and around 300 km3 in 2000, respectively. At the same period, whereas agriculture witnessed a gradual climb from 500 km3 in 1900 to about 1000 km3 in 1940, its consumption skyrocketed and reached 3000 km3 in 2000.
Turning to the table, the population of Brazil was equivalent to 176 million and its land which could be irrigated, was 26500 km2. So, each Brazilian person consumed 359 m3 water in average in 2000. These figures with respect to Congo were 5.2 million people, 100 km2 of land, and 8 m2 water consumption per person, at the same year.
Overall, it is clear from the graph than most of water was consumed in farming around the glob in the 20th century, followed by industrial usage and domestic use.
