Essay topics:

The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.

The line chart illustrates the global water usage, bifurcated into three sectors (Agriculture, Industrial and Domestic) whereas the table represents the water consumption of Brazil and Congo in the year 2000, based on three distinct criteria. Unit of measurement was kilometer cube.
Overall, the water usage increased gradually in all the three domains but there was a steep rise in the agricultural use over the period of 100 years. Furthermore, Brazil lead the chart as compared to Congo’s negligible population, associated land available for irrigation and water consumption of an individual.
Specifically, in 1900, agriculture sector had already consumed a significant amount of water with respect to industrial and domestic sectors, which consumed a quintessential amount of water at that time. Moreover, both the counterparts observed a steady increase in water usage from 1930 onwards till 2000 wherein the industrial consumption of water rose 1000 times and the domestic consumption increased to 250 times. Agricultural consumption maintained its position at the top and increased more than 2500 times from the beginning.
In terms of water consumption in Brazil and Congo, it is evident that Brazil had outnumbered Congo in population and hence its irrigated land and water consumption per person was grossly large than Congo.
