Between 1980 and 1996 the figure characterized consumption of petrol and oil experienced some fluctuations from 35 units to approximately 32 units in 1996, then we can see a steady growth to 44 units in 2018. An upward trend to 40 units is also projected until 2030.
Speaking about coal and natural gas, they both had insignificant fluctuations and a gradual rise from 16 units for coal and 20 for gas in 1980 to 27 and 26 units respectively by 2018. However, while figure for natural gas will remain constant, the figure for coal will reached 30 units by 2030.
As for alternative type of energy, they witnessed a slow increase from 4 units in 1980 to 6 for nuclear power and 4.5 for solar/wind and a drop from 4 units to 3 for hydropower until now. In the next 12 years, it is predicted that the consumption of this types of energy will stay stable.
Overall, the graph suggests that consumption of all types of energy was growing throughout the whole period and it will continue to rise until 2030.
