From the chart, we can notice that Itaty and Portugal share a similar increase trend during that period. The average carbon dioxide emissions had a remarkable change in this 40 years, with approximately a initial emissions number of 4 metric tonnes in 1967 to 7.8 metric tonnes in 2007. In the same time, Average emissions in portugal also showed a similar trend, from about 1.8 metrics tonnes in 1967 to 5.6 metrics tonnes in 2007.
In contrast, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted in United Kingdom and Sweden indicated a downward trend in that 4 decades, although these two countries had different changing patterns in the first 10 years. We can observe that compared with a steady decrease from 11 tonnes to 8.4 tonnes, Sweden had a considerable increase from roughly 8.3 metrics tonnes to 10.2 metrics tonnes,the highest tonnes of this country, and it experienced a significantly decrease in the last 30 years.
