Overall, it is clear that traveling by car and train was more popular than moving by bus on the daily basis of UK commuters. While the number of people using cars and trains increased gradually each day, the figure for bus users falls steadily.
At the start of the period, by 1970, the number of commuters used the car daily at about 5 million, the figure for citizens who travel by bus and train was lower to around 4 million and 2 million respectively. The number of car user each day tend to rose slightly to 7 million, train user also reached to 3 million people from 1970 to 2000; Meanwhile, the number of those traveling by bus decreased approximately 0.5 millions people.
There was a stabilize in the number of cars and train users between 2000 to 2010. By 2030, the number of workers who commute by car is expected to peak at almost 9 million, the figure for train users is also predicted to rise to nearly 5 million. By contrast, UK commuters moving each day by bus are predicted to become a less popular choice, will only 3 million users.
