The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a
European country between 1979 and 2004.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make
comparisons where relevant.

The line chart compares the weekly consumption per capita of fish, chicken, beef and lamb in an European country from 1979 to 2004

Overall, It is clear that the consumption of meat and fish followed a downward trend except for chicken.

In 1979, the weekly intake of beef was the highest, at around over 200 grams per person while that of chicken was just under 150 grams
Over the next 25 years, the prior reached a peak and remained stable at under 250 grams between 1984 and 1989, preceding a plummet to about 120 grams in the final year. By contrast, there was a steady increase by 100 grams in the amount of chicken consumed per week per person over the year and hence, chicken became the most favorite meat in 2004

Turning to the weekly intake of fish and lamb, the figure for lamb in 1979 was 150 grams, three times higher than that of fish in the same year. However, during the time recorded, the gap narrowed as the consumption of fish stayed relatively constant while there was a cut-down on the weekly intake of lamb by nearly 100grams.
