The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.

The line graph compares how much fish and three types of meat were consumed in one country in Europe from 1979 to 2004. Units are measured in grams per person per week.

Overall, the amount of chicken being eaten increased dramatically over the period given while the consumption of beef, lamb and fish decreased. It is also noticeable that at the start of the period until 1987, people consumed beef the most and in the following years, it was replaced by chicken.

The figure of chicken consumption started just under 150 grams/person/week then rose to just over 200 grams/person/week in 1998 overtaking beef as the most consumed. The number fluctuated in the succeeding years before rocketing up to approximately 250 grams/person/week in the final year.

In 1979, the amount of beef and lamb which were eaten began at around 220 and 150 grams/person/week respectively. Then the numbers displayed a significant drop to roughly 110 grams/person/week for beef and almost 60 grams/person/week in 2004. With regard to consumption of fish it hovered between approximately 60 grams/person/week and just under 50 grams/person/week throughout the period.
