The graph below shows different sources of air pollutants in the UK from 1990 to 2005. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line chart illustrates the amount of air pollutants caused by three different factors in the UK between 1990 and 2005.
Overall, it is noticeable from the graph that there is a downward trend in the number of total pollutants and in two other causes, namely industry and households. At the same time, transport leading to air pollution remained steady throughout the period of 15 years.
Starting from 7 billion tonnes in 1990, the amount of total pollutants in the air then decreased gradually to 4 billion tonnes in 1999. This was followed by a period of slight dip, with the amount of total pollutants in the country declined to more than 3 million tonnes at the end of the period.
In the first year of the given period, industry accounted for 5.5 million tonnes. There was then a significant decrease to 3 million tonnes before falling to its lowest level at 2 million tonnes of pollutants in 2005. In contrast, both transport and household sources only generated much lower amount of air pollutants in the UK. Air pollution from transportation remained relatively constant at about 1 million tonnes from 1990 to 2005, whereas air pollutants from households saw a steady fall from 1 million tonnes in 1990 to approximately 0.1 million tonnes in 2005.
