In 2009, the total oil usage in the USA was the highest, at approximately 9 million barrels, while the amount of oil that was used in Western Europe and Japan, China, Middle East were much lower, at 4 and 2 million barrels respectively. Later on that time, oil consumption in America and China slightly increased until the former reached its peak at 10 million barrels in 2015 and a projection of 4 million barrels in 2025 for the latter. However, the USA will drop from 10 to 8 million barrels in the next 10 years and remain steady in the last period, meanwhile, China will have a small decline to about 3.5 million barrels in 2030.
A similar trend was seen in the Middle East, which had a steady growth and is predicted to rise to 3 million barrels in 2030. In contrast, the daily numbers of barrels used by Western Europe & Japan were halved throughout the first 6 years and are projected to continue to go down to around 2 million in the last year.
