The graph illustrates the number of books read by both genders at Burnaby Public Library during the 3-year period.
It is clear that for men the reading trend was going up. On the other hand, reading was less common for the female in the last stage of the period.
In 2011, almost 3000 books were read by men and this number rose slowly to 4000 in 2012. Afterward, there was a significant increase in the number of books read by men in 2013, close to 10000 books. Ultimately, this soaring trend ended up at its peak of about 14000 books per year.
For women, it seemed that reading was more common during the first stage of the period, approximately 5000 books were read annually in 2011. This figure went up at a constant speed until it reached its top which was the same as the figure for men in 2013. However, women started to lose interests in reading by the end of 2014 causing the number to drop steeply to 8000 books.
