The diagrams below give information on transport and car use in Edmonton. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two graphs illustrate the percentage of different vehicles and the proportion of purposes in using a car of the people who live in Edmonton.

Overall, car and LRT usage account for the most of traveling activities in the city, compared to bus and taxi. Furthermore, people use their car the most in order to go to work, do business and take their kid to school, rather than go shopping or having leisure activities.

Of the four means of transport, Edmonton citizens spend the highest percentage of their traveling by car with 45%. The second most common transport is LRT, just less than 10% compare to cars. In contrast, public transports like bus and taxi are not much popular in the city and have the same proportion of 10%.

As for cars, commuting to work and doing business are the main reasons that people use their own vehicle, with 55% and 45%, respectively. However, only 40% of all is reported to use cars so as to take their children to school. In contrast, cars are not used much when it comes to shopping, only 15% and it is the same as the percentage of leisure activities.
