The graph below shows female unemployment rates in each country of the United Kingdom in 2013 and 2014. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graph illustrates the percentage of women who fail to seek a job in the four countries of the United Kingdom between 2013 and 2014.

It is obvious that there were differences in the unemployment rate of each country. Nevertheless, these rates had dropped by a small proportion in 2014, except Scotland.

In 2013, England had the highest female unemployment rate, with 6.8%. Follow by is Scotland, with 6.1% of its female population who were unable to make a living. Whereas both Wales and Nothern Ireland had the smallest unemployment rate, 5.4%, and 5.6% respectively.

Over a year, progress had been made in order to help women find a career, as a result, the female unemployment percentage in Nothern Ireland fell considerably to 4.6%. The same type of change, though a bit smaller than in Nothern Ireland, also happened in England with the unemployment rate reduced by 0.3% and in Wales, it went down to 5%. However, Scotland surprisingly wasn’t affected by the same trend, in fact, the female unemployment rate in Scotland actually went up to 6.7% becoming the highest rate of all countries in the United Kingdom.
