The line graph illustrates how many travellers visited a Caribbean island from 2010 to 2017. Units are measured in millions.
Overall, it is evident that the trend was generally upward with the total number of visitors being showing the highest rate. Additionally, although, in the beginning period, the figure for tourists saying on island was more than that of those who stayed on cruise ships, in the final year, the latter overtook the former.
In 2010, the number of total visitors stood at exactly 1 million, which was then followed by a gradual increase reaching the peak of 3.5million in 2017. Similarly, in the first given year, the rate for the travellers staying on cruise ships started at approximately 0.3 million before witnessing a steady growth to 0.5 million in the following year. However, in 2012, it declined to the same level which it had been at in 2010 but it recovered immediately and saw a constant rise reaching at 2 million at the end of the given period.
Regarding the visitors who stayed on island, the number was around 0.7 million in 2010 before levelling off for the next year. Between 2011 and 2013, the trend markedly increased after which it remained constant for the next 2 years. In 2016, it experienced a slight fall to roughly 1.3 million, and it was then followed by an increase to 1.5 million in 2017.
