Overall, it is clear that all figures expressed increasing trends in the 1979-2009 period. Although the price of four categories relatively were similar at the starting point in 1979, the fresh fruits and vegetables dramatically reach the peak of the graphs in 2009.
In 1979, although groups started at the same point, at approximately 60, the figure of the fresh fruits and vegetables dropped down to 90 in 1983, which was lower than those of the remaining groups at the same time, at roughly 100. However, after many fluctuations, the figure of the fresh fruits and vegetables rapidly grew up to 330, compared to 210 of the consumer-price index.
Additionally, the figures for the sugar and sweets and carbonated drinks rose from 60 in 1979 to 100 in 1985, which had no significant differences between these two groups during this period. Nevertheless, the sugar and sweets had a significant increasing trend to nearly 200 in 2009, which was higher than that of the fizzy drinks, at only around 100 in this year.
