The line graph compares the amount of acid rain emissions in the UK from four sectors over a period of 17 years, starting from 1991.

In general, there was a significant decrease in the amount of acid rain gases from 1990 to 2007. In particular, the UK saw a dramatic increase in the figure for acid rain emissions by electricity, gas and water supply sector.

In 1991, around 3.4 million tons of acid rain emissions were electricity, gas and water supply sector, and the amount of acid rain emissions from other industries was lower, at 2.1 million tons. Meanwhile, the figures for the domestic sector and transport and communities sector were the lowest, at 0.6 and 0.7 million tons. From 1993 to 2001, this country underwent a much decline, at only under 1.5 million tons, in the amount of emissions came from electricity, gas and water supply sector, and then it fluctuated at around 1.2 million tons until 2001, before declining to 0.5 million tons at the end of the period shown.

Moreover, the amount of acid rain emissions in the UK by other industries, remaining the same over the next 3 years; however, it decreased to 1.2 million tons in 2007. The figure for acid rain gases from transport and communities sector remained almost unchanged during the period shown. Finally, there was a small decrease, from 0.6 to 0.5 million tons in 2007, in the amount of acid rain emissions came from the domestic sector.
