The line graph illustrates how many people who will learn three categories of languages, namely English, Spanish and Mandarin over the course of 10 year, starting in 2020.
Overall, it can be obviously seen that the number of students leaning these common languages will see an upward trend over the time frame. Furthermore, Engligh will register the highest figure.
Looking at the details, the quantity of people studying English will stand at 550 million. There will be a sharp increase of 150 million in the number of students leaning this language from 2020 to 2024. This figure will decrease gradually by 100 million students between 2024 and 2025 . After that, a dramatically rise will be witnessed in this quantity, which will reach approximately 750 million people studying this language in the year 2030.
In addition, the figure for the two other languages will see the similar trends. In 2020, the number of students studying Spanish will be around 200 million and the figure for Mandarin will be roughly 100 million students. The quantity for Spanish will increase slightly to about 300 million before soaring to reach 500 million students for the rest of the period. Besides, the figure for Mandarin experience a significant rise to reach approximately 550 million in the year 2030.
