The graphs below give information about computer ownership as a percentage of the population between 2002 and 2010, and by level of education for the years 2002 and 2010.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two bar charts examine the popularity of owning computers as varying throughout the years 2002 to 2010. Further, the grouped bar chart stratifies the data by educational level, thus allowing for another trend to be illustrated.
Apparently, utilization of a private computer had been on the rise over time, with a total increase of around 25 per cent from 2002 to 2010. Such increase was almost perfectly gradual, without a major leap here or there. However, the composition of computer holders seemingly varied between the starting point and the end point. That is, in 2002, individuals at a college level of education or higher made a more significant ratio of the overall users.
As for years of education, it seems that the chronological effect was even more accentuated for lower educational stages. For example, the segment with no high school diploma almost tripled, while holders of a bachelor degree or above only saw their ownership increasing by around 20 per cent.
In conclusion, computer ownership had definitely gone up during the years in question. Considering educational level, as well, this effect was yet more pronounced in case of lower levels of schooling.
