The given table reveals the information of household total earnings together with their expenditure on food and clothes of an UK middle-class family in two years,2010 and 2013 . Besides, the pie charts illustrated the proportion of spending on different types of food and clothes in the same time.
Overall, while income per household witnessed a decrease in 2013, the spending on food and clothes was increased. In addition, the rate of money spent on meat and fish was highest in 2010, that of fruits and vegetables replaced this position in 2013.
It is obviously seen in the table that there was a significant fall by 4000 pounds from 2010 to 2013. Despite this overall decline, expenditure on food and clothes slightly rose from 14000 pounds in 2010 to 15000 pounds in 2013.
In term of spending on food, in 2010, the largest spending belonged to meat and fish with 20%. However, this position was replaced by fruits and vegetables with far greater proportion at 35%. In a sharp contrast, the percentage of expenditure for dairy products was smallest in total with 15% in 2010. This figure steadily grew reaching 20% in 2013. In addition, the amount of money for other food and drinks remained unchanged in both two years.
Among the total spending for food and clothes, the ratio of expenditure for clothes in 2010 was 22% which nearly doubled than that in 2013 when it became smallest proportion in total spending for food and clothes with 12%.
